Child Welfare Stipend Program Provides $10,000 Stipend to Social Work Students

The Child Welfare Stipend Program awards a $10,000 stipend to Social Work students placed in a child welfare agency. Recipients are obligated to work in a Virginia child welfare agency one year for each year they receive the stipend. Read more about the stipend, and apply today.

Beginning in the Fall 2017 Semester, George Mason’s Department of Social Work will participate in the Child Welfare Stipend Program (CWSP). The program, also known as IV-E, provides a $10,000 stipend for students accepted into the program and who are placed in a child welfare agency. Recipients are obligated to work in a Virginia child welfare agency one year for each year they receive the stipend. Incoming MSW students, complete your application by March 15, 2017. Students accepted into either the full-time traditional two-year program or the advanced standing program are eligible to apply. 

Current MSW students and full-time BSW students in your senior year, complete your application by February 15, 2017.
